First Week of December: Creche Exhibit

The First Week of December has arrived, and with it so many wonderful memories of the 31st year of our annual 5-day Creche Exhibit at Palo Alto building of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Middlefield Road. There is always gorgeous live music playing, and concerts each evening, too. I have only missed it when on my missions.

Two guest artists have added their work to the other beautifully displayed international creches throughout the building in this year's exhibit entitled
 "Joy to all People."
"Sacred family" and "Family" (and below) "Celebration" by Nigerian-born sculptor Nnamdi Okonkwo
Mother and Daughter Dancing
"Mother and Daughter Dancing" by Kathleen Peterson  (I don't know which works they are displaying), but I love the joy in this piece.

The creche in front of our Santiago Church office building next door is just up and is lovely, too!
Do you realize that light casts no shadow? Test it out! Christ is light, and the source of truth and love. The light of Christ cannot be darkened.
If we fill yourselves with light, find joy in simple everyday tasks and service, life can be joyful and filled with hope.

And this is how Pedro de Valdivia, the main street in front of it, is lighted for the holidays, evening though it stays light until late.
I just set out my little Mapuche creche. No room for many decorations in this small apartment, though!
I'll save other photos and thoughts for next time...just wanted to encourage creche attendance and start this joyful season!
