              Snow, and it's almost Easter?

Air Force Colonel Gail Halvorsen, born in SLC, October 10, 1920, became known as "The Candy Bomber," because along with the airdrop of food over Berlin at the end of WWII by American and British pilots, he dropped lots of sweets, multiple times, to eager German children waiting at the Berlin airfield. He died in 2022: maybe the moral to the story of "Uncle Wiggly Wings'" kindness to the former enemy afforded him a long and happy life. He served from 1942-1974 in Germany. It was so fun to meet his lovely daughter today in the temple and learned of her father when I complimented her on her perfect pronunciation of German names. And she looks just like him!
May we all follow his example and that of our Savior Jesus Christ of showing kindness to all, even those we may see as enemies.

Lots of performances to enjoy: Twin grand-daughters Elise and Stephanie participated in the beautiful Children's Dance Theatre's Virginia Tanner dance program "Salt."  Since its inception in 1949, the program, affiliated with the U. of Utah, has "brought joy and positive influence of the arts into the lives of more than 1,000,000 young people."

The same day grand-daughter Evelyn de S. (with parents Fernanda and Marc) performed with her dance company. Older sister Hannah (15) came in first place all around in the gymnastics meet the day before!

BYU students put on a funny and delightful performance of John-Michael Tebelak and Stephen Schwartz's 1971 Off-Broadway "Godspell" (good news). The musical sought to approach Bible parables (mostly from Matthew) and texts with the innocence of a child.

Winter term for Provo's My Hometown Initiative's ESL classes just finished with ceremony and certificates for these hardworking English learners. It's a joy to work with them. We have a 2 week break. Computer, Finance, piano keyboard and tutoring continue.

And all best wishes for a lovely Easter as we celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, who knows and loves each of his children throughout the world, and has made it possible for us to be reunited and live for eternity with our ancestors, living families and descendants. What a blessing!
