With extended family at my house

Watching slides (what are slides??) of my kids long ago!

BYU has a wonderful exhibit of Spanish art on loan from the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It brought back many memories of visits to the Prado and Joaquin Sorolla's home/museum in Madrid

Sorolla painted a large work Castilla (1913-18) depicting the many regions of Spain (when I lived there in 2012-3 I visited every one and saw the great diversity of language, dialect, costume, culture, food, etc.) in this beautiful country.

His more familiar watercolors often had beach or familial scenes
After the Bath and Beach Idyll

Sorolla's painting of Tiffany

The exhibit also included Spanish and Colonial Spanish American religious art (here are few)
Martha and Mary

Death, Soul in Hell, Soul in Purgatory, Soul in Heaven
El Greco's San Geronimo

I identify more with "softer" protestant religious paintings!

The State of the Union address to Congress by President Joe Biden

Here are his remarks if you missed them: https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/speeches-remarks/2024/03/07/remarks-of-president-joe-biden-state-of-the-union-address-as-prepared-for-delivery-2/

Since the Open House, this was my first trip to the beautiful new Orem Temple of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

My very talented grandson Simon de Schweinitz won first prize in his age group (12-14) in a BYU competition, beautifully playing Chopin's Fantasie Impromptu (very fast and challenging!) (unfortunately my recording video won't upload)

My Timpanogos is still an imposing snow covered mountain which the skiers love, but many of us are anxious for spring to come here!
I took this 14 years ago on this day at the Oakland Temple!
Daylight savings time has begun, so bring on Spring!
